New Horizons Programs
(Adult Community Bands & Orchestra)

Now Recruiting New Members!

Be a part of a community  of people who love music as much as you!
Don't worry if you have little or no music experience, we will get you
started on the instrument of your choice and teach you how to play!
Visit one of the rehearsals listed below, and
if you decide to join, you can register the same day!

The New Horizons programs are adult community ensembles designed for those who want to learn or relearn to play a band instrument or those who wish to get back to playing alongside others with a similar love for music. There are five New Horizons ensembles, including the New Horizons Adult Beginning Orchestra (for strings) - new this year!

All programs offer a relaxed and fun learning environment, and provide multiple performances to the community each semester.

Ensembles, schedules, and pricing include:

  • New Horizons Adult Beginning Band (meets two days/week):
    Tues. & Thur. 9-11 a.m.
    $192.75/semester (15 weeks)
Led by Jack Mike; assisted by Larry Thompson

  • New Horizons Adult Beginning Band (meets one day/week):
    Mon. 6-8 p.m.
    $144.50/semester (15 weeks)
Led by Patti Kroth; assisted by Larry Thompson

  • New Horizons Adult Beginning Jazz Band:
    Tues. 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    $99/semester (15 weeks)
    Led by Tyson Haynes

  • New Horizons Adult Jazz Band:
    Thur. 7-9 p.m.
    $99/semester (15 weeks)
    Led by Tyson Haynes

  • (NEW) New Horizons Adult Beginning Orchestra (strings only):
    Wed. 6-8 p.m.
    $99/semester (10 weeks)
Led by Mikaela Vanator (bio coming soon)

A Snowbird rate of $99/semester is offered to those who will not be attending rehearsals during the winter months.

Play in both an adult beginning band (either the two-day or one-day/week option) and one of the Jazz bands! You would only pay the full semester tuition for whichever adult beginning band you choose; there would be no cost to participate in the Jazz band. (Please note: individuals choosing to participate in the New Horizons Orchestra and an adult beginning band/Jazz band will pay full tuition for both programs.)

Financial assistance is available if needed.
