Ann Marie Jones (Violin)

Ms. Ann Marie Jones is a freelance violinist and teacher in the East Lansing area.  Ms. Jones earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Michigan State University and a Masters of Music Education from Grand Valley State University.  She began her teaching career while studying at Michigan State as a Suzuki violin teacher in the Community Music School.  While there she developed a full studio of private students ages three through adult.  She also led the Beginning Violin classes for parents and students.  Since that time she has primarily taught young orchestra students through public education at the middle and high school levels, most recently with the Traverse City West Orchestras.  Ms. Jones has enjoyed traveling to the Czech Republic several times as the conductor of the young orchestras at the Czech Music Camp for Youth.  She is a certified Suzuki violin teacher, an active adjudicator for state Solo and Ensemble Festivals, and has served on several music education committees in the state of Michigan.  Ms. Jones is the teaching director at MASTA String Camp, a Michigan summer music camp for young string students.  She enjoys performing as a violinist with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra and with a variety of small ensembles within her community.
