Cindy Edgerton

Music Therapy Clinical Services

Cindy Edgerton is a music therapist at the Michigan State University Community School and is the Area Chair of music therapy. She is also the founder of the MSU Music Therapy Clinical Services at the Community Music School.

Ms. Edgerton received her Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, and her Master of Music in Music Therapy at Michigan State University.

She has also been a music therapist at Starr Commonwealth in Albion, Mich. and at the Travis State School in Texas.  She is also a member of Michigan Music Therapists, the Great Lakes Regional Association for Music Therapy and American Music Therapy Association.

She is a board certified music therapist who has had two articles published: “The Effects of Improvisational Music Therapy on the Communicative Behaviors of Autistic Children” was published in the Journal of Music Therapy and “Creative Group Songwriting” in Music Therapy Perspectives.

Ms. Edgerton has also presented throughout the United States and internationally on various music therapy topics.
