Emily Dierickx

Flute

Flutist Emily Dierickx (pronounced DEER-iks) is an active performer and educator in mid-Michigan. She is the flute instructor at Albion College and enjoys teaching, presenting, and performing as a solo, chamber, and orchestral musician throughout the United States. 

As an orchestral performer, Dr. Dierickx has regularly appeared with ensembles across the Midwest and South Florida including the West Michigan Symphony, Symphonia, Palm Beach Symphony, Miami City Ballet Opus One Orchestra, South Florida Symphony, and Opera Project Columbus. Dr. Dierickx and her husband, Dr. Zachary Dierickx, are passionate about their chamber group - Dierickx Duo. Since 2015, they have promoted, commissioned, and performed music for flute and clarinet at colleges and conventions across the country. 

Dr. Dierickx is a member of the National Flute Association's Oral History and Archives committee and serves on the Flute New Music Consortium’s leadership team. She earned her DMA in Flute Performance with a cognate in Music Education from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. Dr. Dierickx is also a proud Spartan and Buckeye having earned performance degrees from Michigan State University (B.M.) and The Ohio State University (M.M.). Dr. Dierickx and her husband, Zack, live in DeWitt with their daughter, Josie, and dog, Dora.
