Margaret Parker

Percussion

Margo Parker is a Master’s student at Michigan State University, pursuing a degree in Percussion Performance. She is originally from Austin, Texas, where she recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.

Margo’s background in the competitive marching world with ensembles such as the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps, and in the classical world with ensembles like the National Orchestral Institute, help enrich and formulate her unique approach to music education and performance.

Margo first began her teaching career as a front ensemble technician in Texas at local high schools such as Vista Ridge High School and Bowie High School. She now teaches as the Front Ensemble technician for East Lansing High School, and actively performs as a founding member of a percussion quartet which recently emerged at Michigan State: Altamira Percussion.
