Rebecca Winchell

Cello

Rebecca Winchell (Spurbeck) is a cello instructor at MSU Community Music School in East Lansing Michigan. She received her bachelor's degree in Cello Performance under the instruction of Bruce Uchimura at Western Michigan University. Mrs. Winchell currently plays in the Holland Symphony Orchestra. During her studies at Western, she taught at a non-profit organization called Orchestra Rouh through the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. There, she taught children aging from 4 all the way to 16. Mrs. Winchell received her book 1 teacher training from Andrea Yun at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. She plans to continue her studies under other Suzuki pedagogues throughout her career. Mrs. Winchell is a free-lance musician, with a history of teaching students through her own private studio, as well as lead ensembles, sectionals, and orchestras at various public schools throughout mid-Michigan.
