A doctoral candidate at Arizona State University, violinist Sarah Abbott has performed throughout the US and Europe. She received a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan, an Artist Diploma from the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, where she also taught as an adjunct faculty member.
Playing alongside classical artists such as Lynn Harrell, Robert McDuffie, Gil Shaham and Stefan Jackiw, Sarah has also been invited to perform with Michael Buble, the Osmonds, and most recently with The Killers on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Sarah also performs regularly with the Kalamazoo, Jackson, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor, and Lansing Symphonies.
Sarah has been teaching for 12 years and is a passionate Suzuki instructor. Her Suzuki training specifically includes studying with Mr. Mark Mutter at the University of Michigan. Sarah aims to help students excel by tailoring lessons to help students meet their specific goals. Her top priorities in teaching are to instill a love of music for students of all ages and capabilities, and to help guide them to reach their musical aspirations.
