Stephen Michaels
Saxophone
Stephen is a first-year master’s student studying Jazz and Classical Saxophone with Prof. Blanding and Prof. Lulloff. He is also a GA for the Jazz Studies Department. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, he studied at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame with Danny Harper. He got his Undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama studying Saxophone Performance with Dr. Jon Noffsinger. He has performed with various orchestras and bands around the Southeast both as a soloist and as an ensemble member. While in Tuscaloosa, he was also active in the musical theatre scene, performing in the Theatre Tuscaloosa’s production of Sister Act.
