Megan Magsarili

Voice

Megan Magsarili hails from Portland, Oregon where she began her musical studies in voice, piano, and violin. In 2017, She received a Bachelor of Music degree from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Megan recently completed a master’s in voice at MSU where she studied under renowned Mezzo-Soprano, Jane Bunnell.

Throughout her studies and professional career, Megan has become a specialized performer of opera, musical theater, and choral music. Her notable roles with DePaul Opera Theatre include Arnalta in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, Emma Jones in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, and Ernestina in Rossini’s one act opera, L’occasione fa is ladro. During her time at Michigan State, Megan was cast in university productions as Prince Orlofsky in Strauss Jr.’s Die Fledermaus, Zita in Gianni Schicchi by Rossini, and Sesto in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito. Megan has been a featured soloist in large orchestral works, including Luciano Berio’s Sinfonia, Grand Pianola Music by John Adams, and Handel’s Messiah. In 2017, Megan accepted a position with the Chicago Symphony Chorus for their 60th anniversary season.

Since completing her undergraduate degree, Megan has worked as a private voice teacher in both Chicago and Lansing. Megan’s teaching style centers around the ease and enjoyment of singing. She believes in generating well-rounded musicians who are knowledgeable in vocal health and technique, performance, and music theory.
