Jack Mike is an instructor and co-band leader of the New Horizons Band at the Michigan State University Community Music School.
Mr. Mike received his Bachelor of Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music and later received his Master of Music at Michigan State University.
Mr. Mike has performed with the Cleveland Concert Orchestra, the University Circle Orchestra in Cleveland, the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, the Elmira Symphony Orchestra in New York and the CIM Brass quintet. He has done varied freelance work for Bob Hope, Red Skelton, the Temptations, the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus Band among others.
He has worked as the band director at Lansing-area schools. He later assumed the position of Director of Music at Hartland High school and Director of Jazz Band at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. He also worked as the conductor for the Lansing Junior symphony. Mike is currently a conductor for the Mid-Michigan Youth Symphony.
