Payment Options

When registering in-person or over the phone, there are three payment options:

  • Option I (one payment):
The full tuition is paid at the time of registration.

  • Option II (two payments):
Tuition is paid at the beginning of each semester.

  • Option III (monthly payments):
The first payment is due at the time of registration. Remaining payments are due by the first of each month. With this option, there is a $10 processing fee that is charged once per family, per school year.

Registrations made online require the full tuition to be paid at that time.

Make Your Payment Online

You may now pay your CMS tuition bill online! Once you have received your bill in the mail or have the amount needed to pay toward a current or past registration, you may make your payment through the CMS online registration site.

To make a payment:

  • Click here to access the CMS registration site
  • Select "CMS-East Lansing"
  • Choose "Tuition Payment"
  • Enter the dollar amount you want to pay on your account and complete the form
    • Your balance can be found on the lower right side of the CMS bill mailed to you
  • Click "Add to Basket" and proceed with the payment portion

Please do not use this process to register for a new semester of private lessons, group classes/ensembles, or music therapy. Call or visit CMS to register.

Registration Fee

CMS charges a $15 registration fee once per semester, per family. This fee applies to all lessons, classes, ensembles, and music therapy with tuition of $100 or more in a single semester. This fee is non-refundable and does not apply to any summer programming.

Late Fee

A $25 late fee is assessed on all past-due accounts. Accounts overdue by 90 days or more may be sent to collections.

Withdrawals from Classes, Lessons, or Ensembles

If you decide that you no longer wish to continue with your CMS class/lessons/ensemble prior to the end of the semester, a notice of withdrawal must be given by phone, in-person, or in writing to the CMS Registrar. Notifying only the teacher is not sufficient to withdrawal.

Please note the following items:

  • If you choose to withdrawal from a class or ensemble, no credit or refund will be issued.
  • Students who withdraw from lessons must pay for the first half of the semester.

If you choose to withdraw prior to the semester withdrawal deadline (typically the first eight weeks of the semester), you will only be responsible to pay for that portion. The remaining funds will be refunded to you.

Please contact CMS with any questions.
