Piumi Kasthuri Arachchi is a music educator, mezzo soprano, and researcher currently pursuing a PhD in Music Education at Michigan State University, where she also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
Piumi received her Bachelor of Performing Arts in Western Vocal Performance from the University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Sri Lanka and completed her Master’s degree in music education at Northern State University, South Dakota. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes creativity, inclusivity, playfulness, and student-centered learning. Piumi’s experience teaching in international and diverse environments has inspired her flexible and responsive approach to working with learners of all ages and abilities.
