The MSU Community Music School’s mission is to provide music education and music therapy to all people, regardless of age, ability, and income. As a self-supporting organization, CMS derives funding primarily from student tuition and the generous grant support from various corporate, foundation, community and government funders.
However, the Community Music School’s greatest need is funding for tuition assistance. Did you know that 1 in 11 CMS students receives financial assistance and many recipient families have an average household income of $26,000 for a family of 3? As the requests for financial assistance continues to grow, it is imperative that we seek help from individuals, like you, to help ensure that CMS can provide music education and music therapy services to as many people as possible; regardless of their income.
