Financial Assistance
CMS is committed to making music possible for as many people as possible. Therefore, financial assistance is offered to anyone with need for all CMS programs. As every little bit helps, varying amounts of assistance is awarded, based on the level of need.
Apply for Financial Assistance
- Print and complete the CMS financial assistance application (PDF).
- Return the application with documentation of household income, such as a 1040 tax form from the previous year, to the CMS office.
Deadlines
- Fall 2023 applications: September 25, 2023
- Spring 2023 applications: February 12, 2024
- Summer 2024 applications are due 2-3 weeks before lessons/programs begin
Late applications are accepted, however, applications received by the due date receive priority.

Each year, the requests for financial assistance continue to grow. One in eleven CMS students receive financial assistance, and of these students, many are living on an annual household incomes of less than $26,000 for an average family size of 3 people.
As a self-supporting institution, funding for CMS financial assistance comes primarily from grants and private donations, and is limited each semester. Help us make music, and its benefits, possible for more people.
