CMS locations get support so that the youngest learners are not left behind.
Beginning March 11, 2020, MSU announced the suspension of in-person classes, campus events, travel, etc. to ensure the safety and health of the community. As increased measures have been taken by MSU and the State of Michigan, CMS has responded by suspending all in-person activities. Check here for the latest CMS updates.
With the generous support of Patricia and David Brogan, CMS was able to partner with local company, Able Eyes, to create a 360° virtual tour of the MSU Community Music School, offering individuals of all abilities to virtually explore and acclimate themselves with the space before even walking through the doors.
Offering music programs to people of all ages and abilities, CMS is proud to help MSU be named an "Age-Friendly University."

Although summer has officially come to a close, we invite you to join us in looking back at some of the wonderful memories we made this year. While all four of the CMS summer camps bring together youth and teens through a shared love of music, this year, it was our Beginning Strings camp that drew a record number of participation.
Although the weather may still feel like winter, spring has arrived at the Community Music School. Along with the spring semester, CMS is excited to introduce two new programs: the New Horizons Adult Beginning Orchestra and the Spartan Youth Jazz program.
“This camp was overall AMAZING! The teachers were so helpful and sweet. I really hope I can attend this awesome camp again next year,” exclaims a camper who attended the CMS Middle School Band Camp. It was another successful year for summer camps and we're proud to share it with you!
MSU Community Music School’s mission is to provide music education and music therapy to people of all ages, incomes, and abilities – even if it means taking the music experience outside the doors of CMS and bringing it directly to the people that may need it the most.
